Micro Current Neurofeedback or “MCN”, is an emerging treatment designed to help the brain “reboot” itself. MCN is increasingly used to treat mind-related issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD and many other disorders (see the list below). It is safe, painless, non-invasive, and effective for both adults and children. In a typical MCN session, small electrodes are applied to a patient’s head to reflect brain waves and encourage a “re-routing” of established brain wave patterns.
It seems that this enables the brain to adjust itself by creating new brain wave patterns. Typical responses within the first few treatments are improved mental clarity, a sense of calmness, clearer senses, and more restorative sleep. Over 85% of patients observe a noticeable positive change within the first five sessions.
We can design a treatment program to meet your individual needs.
MCN has been used effectively to assist people with their:
· Academic performance
· Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
· Addiction
· Anxiety
· Athletic performance
· Autism
· Cancer treatment side effects
· Chronic fatigue
· Fibromyalgia
· Concussion
· Depression
· Insomnia
· Memory issues
· Migraines
· Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
· Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
There are several types of neurofeedback on the market today. MCN uses the smallest amount of exposure that still provides results, which decreases the chances of over-stimulation. MCN has shown results in a shorter time than some other types of traditional neurofeedback.
Is It Safe?
IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback is an FDA-registered EEG amplifier and is extremely safe and pain-free. The amount of electric current used is 1/100 of an AA battery for the duration of 1/100 of a second and is not generally noticeable. Treatments are safe and effective for adults and children.
How many treatments do I need?
Every patient is different, but three to five sessions are usually sufficient to start generating positive results. 10-20 total session are often best to sustain longer-lasting results.
How long does it last?
Unlike traditional neurofeedback that requires active participation in therapy, such as watching videos, MCN does not involve this making it great for kids and adults with limited attention. It takes about 10 minutes to properly place equipment on the head and another 10 minutes for the actual treatment.
How much does it cost?
MCN sessions are $150 per session. Initial sessions are generally about 45 minutes, and sessions after that are generally 20-30 minutes.
If patients pay ahead for 12 sessions, those sessions are $1500 total ($125 per session).
Is MCN covered by insurance?
Generally, MCN is not covered by insurance. We can provide patients with a super bills to turn into insurance for potential reimbursement, but MCN services will not be submitted to insurance.
